Twit Twoo!

Thought i'd give you an update on the sewing front, as seen above i did make this owl for my dearest Angela!

I love how simple a felt decoration can bring any corner of the home a new lease of life. I'm really enjoying the course especially as next week we are going to be doing some 'Emma Bridgewater' inspired cushions and bunting, i'm excited!

Oh before i go a friend came in today and gave me some very good advice for the down days:

'Remember Yesterday, Look Forward To Tomorrow, Live For Today'

Marvellous.

Work No Play?!

Not in my case! Found this cheeky little webcam service on the laptop at work today, Some pictures of my coffee loving friends.

How nice, feeling pretty good today, in fine spirits you might say. This probably because i've had the first Vanilla Latte in what feels like years, all thanks to the darling Angela :)

Oh My,

She is a women with a voice to die for, it's like a mixture of Kate Bush & Pat Benatar with a sprinkle of dirty dubstep, Genius!

This is going to be another one of those songs i listen to so much that i kill it. Oh well untill that day comes it's repeat all day.

Ps: the original of the song is just as badass!

Cemetery Junction

I have wanted to watch this since it first came out, me & nan were going to watch it at the cinema. However watching it last night with the delightful Angela, I was confident that i won't be watching it with my nan after all. If you have seen the film you will know what i mean!

When i pop me cloggs i would love to go back and experience what the 70's was like as watching the film last night that was the era i would fit into most (Theres me thinking that heaven is like where you can choose to live in the afterlife).

I need to live like the poster illustrates;
Be Young,
Be Free,
Be Somebody.

I'm sure by living by this, i will have a happy and fulfilled life, god i'm such a moan today, really need to perk up a little bit!

I'm looking forward to bed today.

Porcelain

Moby,

Listening to this song makes me want to have those long drives home, to my lovely cottage in the middle of nowhere, Wales, Scotland, Ireland.

This however is a beautiful idyllic daydream.

January Debate

I have decided after a serious discussion with my fellow companion, who also loves all things old and rusty, to have debates on subjects that come up now and again that can develop many a debate.

I decided for the January edition to talk about the idea of style, trend, fashion or whatever it's called nowadays:

Vintage vs Vintage Inspired

It's no question that vintage clothing stores are hot property right now with one propping up in every town
For me it's all about the original key pieces. I would rather buy a original Vintage item than a make shift inspired piece. I do agree that buying vintage comes with it's ups and downs; for example some items need a little care & attention but that's not the end of the world pop, nothing a needle and thread can't fix. I love the feeling of someone coming up to me and asking 'where did you get that Aryan jumper from?' and my reply being from a vintage shop ah thank you only £4! They then look in disgust as the one there wearing is from one of the many mainstream shops on the high street cosing 15 times more than mine.

A great feeling of satisfaction

I do admit that the high street does it well, but its not the original which you can still buy! I have a lot of admiration for those independent shops trying to get a foot in the door, especially when the street there on is filled to the brim of all things reproduced for the throw away society we live today.
I'm not saying that you should change what you buy/wear but just to give a little love to those charity shops and vintage shops around. God I'm no dictator.

Today i am wearing: Skirt, cardigan, boots, scarf & bag from vintage shops. Genius!

I would love to hear your views on the January Debate (look at me thinking I've gone all political, but it is just a light debate on the matter)

So what's it to be originality or copycat?

New Year, New Me?

"A new year a new start"
"Out with old in with the new"
"Present rather than past"
"Don't look back in anger"

All these expressions everybody goes by but most people like me can't actually help but think of the year thats gone by.
The new year has already started with a bang thats knocked me sideways, however i am going to do all them tedious new years resolutions as i have made mine more of a fulfilling hobby than a mind numing never going to happen in a million years goal to achieve by the end of the year.
I have signed my self up to a sewing course that i'm very excited to start which will lead me to an endless feeling of happiness especially when i start using those dusty old vouge pattern pieces!

Also the search is still on for learning the ability to speak French, again.
