New Romantics

With the blockbusting Black Swan showcasing the spring/summer seasons ballet style, it’s no wonder the soft, airy style has landed elegantly on this seasons must have. From pleated trousers to detailed chiffon dresses, the new romantic inspired collections have been a hit on the catwalk and on our faithful high-street.

Don’t be mistaken with the kind of inner childhood dream of being a ballet dancer you once had with headbands and legwarmers but a more grown up version of the inspired ballet scene is catching the eyes of designers.

With soft nudes, peachy pinks and off white colour combinations to die for, the new romantic scene is a glamorous yet understated style that can be worn with ease. By matching nude bodices with pleated mocha brown skirts, layers a whole different feel to spring from the contagious floral prints that we are consumed with every summer. The new romantic woman can hold her own in layers of silk chiffon and organza, blossoming into spring with style.

Working the trend well on the catwalk are Gucci, Versace and Chloe who are displaying an explosion of feathers, frills and silk fringing high into our midst’s and we just can’t wait to dip our toes in that luxurious swan lake.

High street inspired collections are also flying close to the new romantic scene with H&M by night collection showing a harder edge to the floaty original side and French Collections spring/summer collection taking on feminine tailoring, mixing silk trousers with blouses and delightfully breezy summer dresses.

Seeing as not only the new romantic being bang on trend the colours fronting the scene being luxe nudes and whites are also top headlines for any spring/summer collection so essentially finding your inner romantic style bags you three inspiring trends all in one.
