Through The Decades: 70's

We all know that 70's style is this years summer inspiration, so i thought i'd have a look at the 70's as a whole instead of falling in the trap of flares, gingham and dasies.
Not only was the 1970's renowned for its bohemian breezyness there was also the Eastern, the Granny, the Punk & the Glam Rock.
Having had a pitstop for coffee and glossy pages, i found that many of the 1970's designers have gone back to there foundations that influenced many a people then and are doing the same now.

                                          Missoni 1970's                      Missoni 2011

Weaving, knitting & crochet thrived in the 1970's captivating designers to put their mothers talents into good use. Missoni being the most eye catching loved it so much you can see take two on the 2011 catwalk.

Issey Miyake 2011          Ali MacGraw 1970's

Going East gave the 70's, ruching, minimalist & movement. With Kenzo being one of the labels at the time showcasing eastern influences along with Issey Miyake.

                                             Punk 1970's                      Vivienne Westwood 2011

Nobody can forget the stylish combo of Malcolm Mclaren & Vivienne Westwood and the whole culture of punk rebellion. Them two made leather, bondage and plastic look cool!

                                                  Ziggy Stardust                    PPQ 2011

Thank God for David Bowie is all i can say on the Glam Rock 70's.
