A little Bird told me...

A Robin to be precise, that winter was coming early this year, what a surprise there then (well not really as I do live in the glorious Great Britain where the weather has more mood swings than a person who has mood swings on a regular basis).

Not such bad news though as winter is my favourite time of year. Hot Lattes in rustic tea rooms, with my big Norwegian cardigan and fur lined boots!
This winter I'm loving the heritage, fetish, sequin textured look. It's a bit like that episode from 'Friends' when Joey dresses up in all of Chandlers clothes, who new that layering technique would catch on (obviously in a more sophisticated look, no offence Joey).

Super 7

1. 1970's sheer is oh so in, this is perfect as it covers up but still shows a little pink!
2. Golden tones, (well tell me when golden toned highlights aren't in) now you can show them off even more with that added st tropez tan (ugh). But don't worry pale people like me (albino) instead of all over we can accessorize and still be bang on!
 3. I like 3 it can be used in many ways a dress or a tunic, yes a tunic very in next season didn't you know. Wear over trousers though no jeans please we're doing chic not 90's.
4. Emerald. Well as you may have guessed i couldn't find an 'emerald' so i have used a tone of green. Looks great in either 60's or 40's looking dresses (another  hot trend).

5. Go full on 60's with polar neck knits and pale ghostly tights, a must next season.

 6. Polka dots. This 1970's maxi dress is spot on (ha)! Maxi is still on through the autumn so this ticks both boxes in the fashion world.

 7. Sequins shimmer, evening dress in the making, wear with killer court shoes and snakeskin clutch to get that guy in the office head over heels.

Missieur

Boyish tailoring is high on the agenda today, as i look outside and already see the autumn weather coming, i decided that it wouldn't be such a bad thing to start one of autumn/winters top trends right now. With the 70's groove still flowing through to the autumn it's no surprise that the mannish tailoring still has the Annie Hall feel. Not only can 70's inspired unisex tailoring be found, there is also a little touch of 60's high collaring and double breasted jackets. With polka dots, retro golden tones and emerald being the hot prints and colours the choices and looks you can achieve are endless and divine, I've got to say I've always wanted to live in the late 60's early 70's and this autumn i will be able to!

Middle: 1. Yves Saint Laurent A/W 2011, 2. Acne A/W 2011, 3. Paul Smith A/W 2011, 4. Burberry Prorsum a/w 2011.

These items are the perfect necessities for the boyish tailoring trend. The key is to mix up more feminism fabrics and textures and play with colour, (golden tones and emerald being the favorites!) and print. These jumpers are perfect, hitting on trend colours and they have the collar to match.

Plus whoever gets there hands on the 70's citrus gingham mini dress (5) i salute you, a must colour shade for this years autumn/winter trend, thats like killing two shopping trips in one, well not like you would want to do that so lets just say you will be the bees knees!

Their Bringing Sixties Back, Yeah!

The green eyed monster in me is ravenous, especially when,  no i wasn't born in the 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's ,even the 80's! The fashion was so defiant, original and creative. I don't know what i will say to my grand children when they look at old pictures (maybe i'll say the dog ate my clothes that day , just incase the next generation live in hovercraft houses and have robot dogs!?), we don't seem to have a iconic image of fashion for the 21st century compared to that of the 60's say. All women and girls wore either mini dresses, tweedy suits and plastics!

Even though our catwalks and runways now are filled to the brim of creativity and designers show there skills in elaborate ways i still walk down the high street and see tracksuits, leggings and uggs, not really what i want to have to show the next generation.

I thought i'd celebrate a little through the science of space with these iconic 60's designers and there works of art and a few of the designers who can recreate looks and transform them into the 21st century.
