Sunflowers in Autumn

I know I'm a little early seeing as we have still got Halloween, Christmas, New Year, My Birthday but I thought I could totally talk about Rodarte's Spring/Summer 2012 collection... Well I have already seen selection boxes and even Easter eggs (Granted the Easter eggs were probably last years at 3 for 50p).

Even though I'm already getting that fresh red nose feeling when I wake up and look outside the window, with the leaves falling in the hundreds of burnt yellows, rust and dirt coloured parachutes, I can't help but have felt a little excitement when trying to find this winter new fur lined boots to long over and have the daydreams I have of snowy Wales.
However seeing in this months Vogue Rodartes collection of sunflower, embroidered, secret garden, floral smelling, whimsicalness, I again felt a little flurry of excitement!

Deja Vu when looking at the women dressed in meadow. From the 1920's embellishment to Tom Brigance 1952 Designed Halterneck, Emilio Pucci's psychedelic 1960's prints to Celia Birtwell's 1970's floral madness to Geoffrey Beene's 1980's evening wear!

Geniuses these designers all are and top marks for Rodarte! A collection that has brought the best out in almost every era of iconic fashion.

A/W @ That Indie Look

Orange the colour of my hair, i like orange, i like Autumn! I love the clothes we have to snuggle up into, heritage, colour, welsh wool.

It seems that this A/W has taken a very seasonal approach never have i seen before a collection of clothes that has has sleeves and fur hems attached to so quickly! Even though the 70's still rules the roost when coming into next season as it's basically the longer versions of what we wore in the summer, pussy bow blouses with sleeves and tasseled hems on capes. The 1960's also makes a comeback with mini dresses worn over turtle necks and fur coats over PVC fetish.

Here's a look at what That Indie Look can inspire to inspire you with your A/W outfits, from colour to 70's, 60's to tailoring! We have it sorted :)

Choose Life?

I'm in a philosophical mood today, i was yesterday too. I have stopped smoking for two days, i have began to wonder how others look at life & i'm reading about how a woman is perceived through the eyes of God. Don't quite know why this mood has came over me possibly something to do with the Missing Curtain being all dark and mysterious or could be the lack of nicotine?

The weather doesn't know if it's coming or going with sunshine today for the Stamford Burghley Horse Trials, well that's stole my custom for today, possibly?

Emma has got me all excited for the Roller Derby, even though growing in success in the UK it's BIG in America, so couldn't resist putting up these 1960's American Cheer leader jumpers. Not like that has anything to do with Roller Derby but it's the closest thing i have!

Enjoy the sunshine today!

'I'm Fine'

'Do you know what Fine means?'

Freaked Out
Insecure
Neurotic
Emotional

'Yeah unfortunately'

Oh the things i learn at work. But how could i forget that quote from The Italian Job!

I't be a sunny day in Stamford today, i'm wearing a dress, with tights of course as i am scarcely translucent. Many a wondering eye for the yellow polka dot dress draping from the mannequin, and the Egyptian bags hanging on there pegs. Today looks set for a good day however i have just wrote that so it won't happen then again i thought of it first, 'and nothing survives being thought of' does it Oscar Wilde!

Tomorrow i set for Blackpool, maybe Brighton or even Bournemouth, i will see if i can get any of those 'arty' pictures of the weekend on here.
Happy Birthday Hannah Ward

Missieur

Boyish tailoring is high on the agenda today, as i look outside and already see the autumn weather coming, i decided that it wouldn't be such a bad thing to start one of autumn/winters top trends right now. With the 70's groove still flowing through to the autumn it's no surprise that the mannish tailoring still has the Annie Hall feel. Not only can 70's inspired unisex tailoring be found, there is also a little touch of 60's high collaring and double breasted jackets. With polka dots, retro golden tones and emerald being the hot prints and colours the choices and looks you can achieve are endless and divine, I've got to say I've always wanted to live in the late 60's early 70's and this autumn i will be able to!

Top: 1. Bianca Jagger, 2.Annie Hall, 3.Patti Smith

Middle: 1. Yves Saint Laurent A/W 2011, 2. Acne A/W 2011, 3. Paul Smith A/W 2011, 4. Burberry Prorsum a/w 2011.

These items are the perfect necessities for the boyish tailoring trend. The key is to mix up more feminism fabrics and textures and play with colour, (golden tones and emerald being the favorites!) and print. These jumpers are perfect, hitting on trend colours and they have the collar to match.
